States can choose to offer stand-alone coverage or fill in the gaps in Medicare drug coverage (Part D) for individuals enrolled in the state's drug assistance plan. Each state decides how its program will coordinate with Medicare drug plans. Check with your state pharmaceutical insurance plan for more information.
