What if a Medicare hospice is unable to take me as a patient?

Whether you are in Original Medicare or a Medicare private health plan, you should call other agencies. Medicare-certified hospice agencies are not required to take you as a patient simply because you qualify for Medicare-covered hospice care. Agencies may select which patients they want to treat, provided that they don’t violate discrimination laws.
