Scott is no stranger to navigating Medicare. Having been paralyzed from the shoulders down since an accident in 2008, he has plenty of the experience necessary to be an informed, confident, and committed advocate for his own medical needs.
But even Medicare veterans need help. He called us earlier this year because he needed coverage for a special type of bed to heal pressure sores. Before Medicare Rights’ assistance, he was paying thousands of dollars each month for the bed, but our counselors identified just how to appeal his coverage denials to not only get the bed covered but also get reimbursed for all those months his plan should have been covering it.
