Learn about the steps you can take if you are told by a pharmacist or drug plan that your prescription drug is not being paid for. If you are confused about your Part D coverage or costs, call your Part D plan by using the number on the back of your plan card. Use this tool to help guide your questions when you call your Part D plan and speak to a representative.

Remember, Medicare Part D provides outpatient drug coverage. Part D is provided only through private insurance companies that have contracts with the federal government—it is never provided directly by the government (unlike Original Medicare).
